The Bechdel Test: Does X-Men really not pass? :(
The Bechdel Test - 3 questions to assess whether or not a film contains an actual female presence / well-developed female roles:
- Are there 2 or more women who have names?
- Do they talk to each other?
- Do they talk to each other about something other than men?
This video shows quite a few mainstream movies that fail this test… Something to look out for, I think; it’s quite interesting!
